Product Link Preflight: Matching IDs and Weidian Links to the Catalog Snapshot

Product Link Preflight answers a narrow question: does this Product ID, Weidian ID, or supported Weidian product URL correspond to one or more rows in the current Superbuy Spreadsheet catalog snapshot? It parses input locally, looks up the snapshot, and—when a Weidian identifier is duplicated—returns every matching product record. It does not prove stock, seller quality, authenticity, or live link health.

What you can paste

The tool accepts a single field. After trim, it classifies input into one of these successful kinds:

Product ID

Short numeric strings (in this catalog’s parsing rules, up to six digits) are treated as Product ID candidates. Product ID is the unique record key. A successful Product ID lookup should resolve to the single catalog product with that identity when present.

Weidian ID

Longer digit strings (typically seven to fourteen digits under the same parser) are treated as Weidian ID candidates. Lookup returns all snapshot rows that share that Weidian ID. There is no silent overwrite that keeps only the first hit.

Weidian product URL

Supported Weidian hosts (including weidian.com / weidian.cn variants the parser recognizes) are inspected for an item identifier in query parameters such as itemID, itemId, item_id, or id, or in a path segment that contains a plausible digit run. When extraction succeeds, the tool continues as a Weidian-oriented snapshot lookup—again surfacing every duplicate catalog match for that ID.

Unsupported hosts and unparseable strings fail closed with an unrecognized or unsupported-url style result. The tool does not “guess” a Taobao or random marketplace URL into a Weidian ID.

Local snapshot only—no outbound fetch for lookup

Preflight does not retrieve the URL you pasted. It does not HEAD-check the page, scrape the live listing, or call Superbuy APIs for availability. Presence means: the identifier appears in this site’s packaged catalog data. Absence means: not in this snapshot under the parsed key.

That design keeps the check fast and avoids implying live validation. If you need to see the live page, open it yourself in a browser after preflight—or start from a Finds card’s destination link when you already have a Product ID.

Catalog rebuilds can change which IDs are present. A match today is a statement about the current snapshot build, not a permanent registry entry. If your notes are months old, run preflight again before you treat an ID as still catalogued here.

Duplicate Weidian behavior in practice

Suppose two catalog products share one Weidian ID but differ in title, category, or snapshot CNY. Preflight lists both. Your job is to compare Product IDs and decide which row matches the item you meant—or to notice that the snapshot contains conflicting rows and slow down before ordering elsewhere.

Collapsing duplicates would hide that conflict. Returning all matches makes the conflict visible. When duplicates appear, copy every Product ID into your shortlist notes and open each destination listing separately; do not assume the first row is the “real” one.

What a “hit” never proves

Even a clean Product ID match does not establish:

  • That the item can be purchased right now
  • That the seller behind the listing is trustworthy
  • That the goods are authentic relative to any brand claim
  • That the Weidian URL still resolves or still points to the same merchandise
  • That warehouse QC photos (later) will look acceptable
  • That shipping will be allowed to your destination

Phrase the result accurately in your notes: “Present in spreadsheet snapshot under Product ID X / Weidian ID Y as of this catalog build”—not “validated listing.” QC photos that appear later in an agent warehouse also cannot prove authenticity; keep that limit in mind even after preflight succeeds.

Task Prefer
Explore titles with keywords Finds name search
Jump to a known Product ID in the grid Finds or Preflight
Paste a full Weidian product URL Preflight
See every duplicate Weidian row from digits Either (both return all matches); Preflight if you also need URL parsing
Filter by CNY band while browsing Finds

Finds is the browsing surface with category chips, price bands, and sort. Preflight is the paste-and-resolve instrument with explicit URL parsing and a result panel aimed at identity confirmation. Use both in the same session when a chat message gives you a URL and you still want to browse related names afterward. For a deeper explanation of the three Finds search modes, see the search guide.

Step-through workflow

  1. Open Product Link Preflight.
  2. Paste digits or a Weidian product URL.
  3. Read whether the parser treated the input as Product ID, Weidian ID, or Weidian URL extraction.
  4. If matches appear, record every Product ID returned—especially under duplicate Weidian cases.
  5. Open the relevant rows on Finds or via destination links to re-check live listing details.
  6. If nothing matches, do not invent a substitute ID; verify the paste, try Finds name search, or accept that the snapshot lacks the row.

Failure modes worth expecting

  • Empty input — nothing to parse.
  • Unsupported URL host — not a Weidian host the parser allows.
  • Digits that look like an ID but are absent — valid shape, missing snapshot row.
  • URL without a recoverable item id — host recognized, identifier not found in query/path patterns.
  • Multiple Weidian matches — not a failure; inspect the full set.

Before you submit a purchase link in any agent form elsewhere:

  • Prefer storing the Product ID from this catalog beside the external URL
  • Re-run preflight if your notes are old and the catalog may have been rebuilt
  • Remember QC photos cannot prove authenticity even after warehouse arrival
  • Keep commercial funnel destinations conceptually separate from “does this ID exist in our research snapshot?”

When a chat partner sends only a Weidian link, preflight is the faster first gate than scrolling Finds by eye. When they send a Product ID from this catalog, either surface works—but preflight still helps if you want a dedicated result panel without category noise. When they send a marketplace URL this parser rejects, stop and ask for a Weidian item link or a Product ID rather than forcing an unsupported host through the tool.

Write down the parsed kind, every Product ID returned, whether duplicates appeared, and the date you ran the check. That paper trail makes later warehouse photo review saner: you can ask whether the arrived unit matches the Product ID you preflighted, not merely “some similar title.”

Preflight is a catalog concordance tool. Use it to reduce wrong-ID research, expose Weidian duplicates, and stop URL paste mistakes early—then do the live confirmation work on the destination page itself.
